Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the twelfth Vande Bharat Express of the Indian Railways. The train will run between Secunderabad station in Telangana and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, connecting the two Telegu-speaking states. This is the second Vande Bharat Express to operate on this route, following the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express.
The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 661 kilometers in 8.30 hours, which is faster than other Express trains running on this route. The train will run six days a week, with no service on Tuesdays. It will make stops at Nalgonda, Guntur, Ongole, and Nellore stations. It will promote spiritual and heritage tourism in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad, Telangana.
The fare for Train No. 20701 Vande Bharat Express from Secunderabad to Tirupati will be ₹1680, which includes an optional catering charge of ₹364. The Executive Class fare between both stations will be ₹3080, which includes a catering charge of ₹419. Meanwhile, the fare for Train No. 20702 Vande Bharat Express will be ₹1625 in Chair Car, including a catering charge of ₹308, and ₹3030 in Executive Class, including a catering charge of ₹369. The Hyderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express will also stop at Nalgonda, Guntur, Ongole, and Nellore stations.
